{"id":490,"date":"2012-11-24T18:38:30","date_gmt":"2012-11-25T02:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.luterra.com\/blog\/?p=490"},"modified":"2012-11-24T18:38:30","modified_gmt":"2012-11-25T02:38:30","slug":"thanksgiving-at-nash-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.luterra.com\/blog\/?p=490","title":{"rendered":"Thanksgiving at Nash House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve posted to this blog; sorry to those who have been checking!<\/p>\n<p>Our summer drought (only 0.12&#8243; of rain between July 1 and October 12) came to an abrupt end, with nearly continuous rain since October 13.\u00a0 We had nearly 5&#8243; of rain from November 17-21, with 24 hours of high winds along the coast.\u00a0 The highest reported gust was 114 mph up in Washington, with 97 mph at Marys Peak.\u00a0 I drove up the mountain to experience 83 mph wind in driving rain and found it quite exhilarating!<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth&#8217;s parents John and Glena drove up for Thanksgiving.\u00a0 Our dinner goal was to highlight as many garden foods as possible.\u00a0 All of our veggies were home-grown.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grilled salmon<\/li>\n<li>Stuffing (with garden celery)<\/li>\n<li>Garden beets<\/li>\n<li>Roasted carrots and parsnips with coriander and marjoram<\/li>\n<li>Roasted potatoes and garlic with rosemary, thyme, and oregano<\/li>\n<li>Roasted onion and salsify with garden hot peppers<\/li>\n<li>Roasted oca with butter-orange glaze<\/li>\n<li>Kale with chanterelles and green beans<\/li>\n<li>Frozen corn-on-the-cob<\/li>\n<li>Quince pie<\/li>\n<li>Acorn squash pie<\/li>\n<li>Glena&#8217;s cookies<\/li>\n<li>Mark&#8217;s Marionberry mead<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Quite delicious!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve posted to this blog; sorry to those who have been checking!
